Supplier Engineer – Plating Processes

About the role

The Supplier Engineer (Plating) will be responsible for developing and managing suppliers that provide anodization, electropolishing, plating, cleaning and coating processes for semiconductor manufacturing. This role works closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure high‑quality, reliable processes that meet Applied Materials' standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, qualify and manage suppliers for anodization, electropolishing, plating, cleaning, and coating processes.
• Lead quality problem resolution, troubleshooting, incident management and drive root‑cause corrective actions.
• Conduct supplier technical audits, evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Communicate technical requirements to suppliers and collaborate on design of experiments to define process windows.
• Compile, analyze and interpret test data to establish process specifications and generate technical reports.

Required profile

• Strong conceptual and practical expertise in plating, anodizing, electropolishing, cleaning and coating.
• Experience in semiconductor supplier quality management.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills for supplier management.
• Ability to lead functional teams or projects with moderate complexity.
• Self‑motivated, resourceful and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
