Supplier Engineer – SERT (Excursion Response)

About the role

The SERT Supplier Engineer acts as the primary liaison between Manufacturing Operations and the Supplier Engineering Quality organization, protecting the factory from supplier‑induced line down events. This full‑time position is based in Singapore and offers the chance to lead excursion response activities and drive continuous improvement across the supply base.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Supplier Engineering Excursion Response Team (SERT), coordinating between manufacturing and supplier quality groups.
• Evaluate supplier performance, drive continuous‑improvement projects, and resolve quality incidents using root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action processes.
• Identify systemic supplier issues at the process level and implement broad‑based resolutions.
• Document and adjudicate quality issues through Containment, Root Cause, Corrective Action, and Verification using the 8D methodology.
• Train suppliers, conduct process audits, and promote sound testing methodologies aligned with corporate and industry standards.
• Support the development, documentation, and execution of Applied Materials’ global Quality Management System.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in supplier management, manufacturing engineering, and quality engineering within the semiconductor industry.
• Ability to interpret business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
• Experience leading functional teams or projects with moderate complexity and risk.
• Strong analytical skills to solve complex problems and drive innovative solutions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to resolve difficult issues.
