Sustainability Engineer

About the role

JTC is hiring a Sustainability Engineer to join its Sustainability Department within Future of Building, Infrastructure and Division. You will be part of a strategic team that defines the research and innovation directions and technology deployment landscape for JTC, covering the built environment, automation, digitalisation and sustainability. You will work with external parties, agencies and internal stakeholders to shape policies and drive sustainability initiatives, including collaborating with industry players and Institutes of Higher Learning to scope impactful R&D projects.

Key responsibilities

• Scope and manage sustainability-related research and innovation projects with Institutes of Higher Learning and industry partners to improve core operations and advance aspirational areas.
• Review study and technical findings, drive projects useful for JTC to deploy, and identify improvements to existing policies and processes.
• Support the implementation of sustainability initiatives led by other divisions, working closely with Facilities and Estate Management colleagues to deploy solutions across JTC's building portfolio and track sustainability performance.
• Liaise with agencies and stakeholders on inter-agency collaborations, studies and discussions on sustainability and climate change.

Required profile

• Background in Civil and Structural Engineering.
• Strong interest in sustainability and willingness to follow developments such as climate adaptation and mitigation, and data management like emissions tracking.
• Proactive team player who can work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Candidates with a BCA's Singapore Green Mark certification and/or experience in sustainability initiatives or low-carbon technologies (e.g. CCUS) have an added advantage.
