SVP Team Lead SRE Engineer – Observability Platforms

About the role

We are seeking a senior leader to head our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team focused on enterprise Observability and Command Center platforms. The role combines strategic vision, hands‑on engineering, and AI‑driven automation to ensure the reliability of critical banking services.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the SRE roadmap, aligning observability initiatives with business goals.
• Lead, mentor and grow a team of SRE engineers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Design, implement and maintain monitoring, alerting and situational‑awareness systems to guarantee high availability.
• Drive best practices in system design, capacity planning, performance optimisation and risk mitigation.
• Build and operate enterprise‑wide observability and command‑center platforms.
• Champion automation to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
• Partner with application and infrastructure teams to embed reliability into new services.
• Communicate reliability metrics, progress and challenges to executive leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in software, data or infrastructure engineering.
• At least 5 years in a leadership role within an SRE or DevOps organization, preferably in banking or financial services.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java or comparable programming languages.
• Deep knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and the ELK stack.
• Experience building Agentic AI applications and integrating AI into reliability workflows.
• Strong background in automation, scripting and infrastructure‑as‑code.
