SVP/VP, Business Director - Financial Planning & Advisory, Consumer Banking

About the role

DBS Consumer Banking Group (CBG), the leading bank in Asia, is looking for a Retail Platform Business Director (SVP/VP level) to lead its Financial Planning & Advisory business. The role drives the retail strategy, ensures operational excellence and leads high-performing teams to deliver market-leading financial solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the business strategy for the retail platform, aligned with CBG's goal of growing market share, revenue and customer engagement.
• Provide strategic direction, mentorship and coaching to a team of Team Heads, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous development.
• Act as accountable leader for the unit's P&L, budget management and business quality, monitoring KPIs to meet targets sustainably.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, the Financial Advisers Act and Fair Dealing principles, maintaining high standards of operational, compliance and risk management.
• Promote a customer-centric approach to financial planning, championing innovation and service quality.
• Work with senior stakeholders across product, digital and support units on resource allocation and marketing strategy.
• Use AI and data analytics to gain customer insights and scale hyper-personalized engagement.

Required profile

• Good degree with at least 10+ years of experience in financial services, including a track record managing large-scale, complex financial advisory businesses.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing managers and building large-scale relationship management organisations.
• Deep expertise in P&L management, business costing and multi-channel marketing strategy.
• Strong knowledge of wealth management, financial planning products and banking operations, and of the regulatory landscape (e.g. FA Act, MAS guidelines).
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, able to influence at senior levels.
• Relevant professional qualifications such as CMFAS, CFP, CFA or similar are highly preferred.
