Systems Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Systems Engineer in Singapore. The role covers defining project and program objectives, managing teams and budgets, and driving the development of new technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Define project and program objectives and complete preliminary activities such as outcome determination, milestones, viability studies and resource planning.
• Ensure projects are completed according to requirements, with attention to product/process specifications, costs, resource use and timeliness.
• Develop personnel through training and career development, manage performance goals, and participate in or manage hiring, rewards and discipline.
• Document all phases of project, program and process development and ensure compliance with company policies such as engineering/lab notebooks, patents, confidentiality, ISO and safety.
• Assign work to subordinates, manage departmental budgets and spend, and optimise design development using computing resources.
• Spearhead research and development of new technologies and integrate new processes, designs and methodologies into products or share them across the organisation.

Required profile

• Comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles in your own job family and knowledge of related ones.
• In-depth understanding of how your discipline fits within the segment or function.
• Ability to manage multiple related teams, set priorities and allocate resources.
• Ability to identify and resolve complex technical, operational and organisational problems.
• Ability to influence others internally and externally, including senior management.
• Understanding of Applied Materials' global Standards of Business Conduct and ethical behaviour.
