Technical Associate (Customer Service)

About the role

The Technical Associate (Customer Service) provides on‑site installation, commissioning, and after‑sales support for complex machining centres and EDM machines. You will work directly with customers, both locally and overseas, ensuring machines operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Install and commission machining centres or EDM machines at customer sites.
• Provide pre‑installation assistance, post‑installation checks, and ongoing field service support.
• Respond to customer complaints, perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
• Prepare detailed service reports, document defective parts, and maintain accurate expense records.
• Educate customers on basic maintenance and technical support of machine tools.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are calibrated to Makino standards and kept secure.
• Support fellow field service engineers and develop strong customer relationships.
• Adhere to safety policies, procedures, and workplace health standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for engineering.
• Willingness to travel overseas occasionally.
