Technical Manager, Data and AI

About the role

The Technical Manager for Data and AI will provide hands‑on technical leadership across the design, development and deployment of data platforms, analytics pipelines and AI solutions. Reporting to the Head of Technology, you will set technical direction, ensure architectural coherence and work closely with the Robotics team to integrate AI and automation capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Align multiple Data and AI initiatives to maintain consistent architecture, tooling and engineering practices.
• Define and refine technical direction, reference architectures, design patterns and integration standards.
• Identify overlaps, gaps and technical risks, recommending corrective actions.
• Lead the technical design of data ingestion, processing, analytics and model deployment pipelines.
• Contribute directly to building production‑ready data pipelines, analytics layers and AI models.
• Establish and enforce technical standards, governance practices and architectural principles.
• Implement data quality, lineage, access‑control and lifecycle management governance.
• Promote responsible AI practices, including model transparency, monitoring and risk mitigation.
• Support ML‑Ops best practices such as versioning, testing, monitoring and automation.
• Collaborate with IT and operations to ensure reliability and operational readiness of deployed solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading complex Data and AI projects in an enterprise environment.
• Strong architectural mindset with the ability to design scalable, reusable solutions.
• Hands‑on technical expertise across the full Data and AI stack, from ingestion to model deployment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with cross‑functional technology teams.
• Experience with governance, security and compliance requirements for data and AI.
