Technical Manager – SAP Projects

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Technical Manager to lead SAP implementation, enhancement, maintenance and support projects for our Singapore office. You will drive end‑to‑end delivery, manage cross‑functional teams and act as the primary technical liaison for our Japan‑based clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead SAP implementation, enhancement, maintenance and support projects, ensuring scope, timeline, budget and quality targets are met.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, resources, milestones and dependencies.
• Gather and analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into SAP solutions and system designs.
• Oversee SAP solution design, configuration, development, testing, deployment and post‑implementation support.
• Provide technical guidance on SAP development, integration, security and cloud‑related matters.
• Manage SAP data migration activities, including planning, mapping, cleansing, validation and testing.
• Lead local and offshore technical teams, allocate tasks, monitor progress and mentor team members.
• Support PMO governance by tracking risks, issues, dependencies and key deliverables.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, vendors and stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Prepare and present project updates, technical recommendations and risk assessments to management.
• Engage with Japan‑based clients in Japanese to clarify requirements, conduct workshops and manage escalations.
• Assist pre‑sales activities by analysing requirements, assessing feasibility and estimating effort.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale SAP projects from design through delivery.
• Strong track record managing both local and offshore technical teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including interaction with senior client representatives.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in English and Japanese.
• Solid understanding of project governance, risk management and reporting.
