Technical Project Manager

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead manufacturing projects for precision‑machined, sheet‑metal and plastic components. You will work closely with design, materials, manufacturing, quality and supplier teams to deliver cost‑effective solutions that meet our customers' high‑tech requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Apply manufacturability and producibility knowledge to precision‑machined, sheet‑metal and plastic parts.
• Perform technical calculations and cost estimations for build‑to‑print parts and simple assemblies.
• Interpret and apply GD&T standards correctly.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities using DFx principles and collaborate with design engineers.
• Develop and maintain project plans, matrices for process improvements, and tracking reports.
• Drive project deliverables through reports, charts and checklists.
• Coordinate cross‑functional communication with design, materials, manufacturing, quality and suppliers.
• Participate in intra‑business unit design teams and contribute to technical development.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in precision parts manufacturing or assembly environments.
• Strong conceptual and practical expertise in mechanical or production engineering.
• Understanding of best practices and how manufacturing integrates with other functions.
• Ability to lead small projects and act as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues.
• Proven problem‑solving skills for complex technical issues.
