Technical Sales Engineer – Business Development

About the role

We are looking for a driven and outgoing Technical Sales Engineer to join a growing team within the construction and building materials industry. This role is suitable for someone who enjoys a mix of technical sales, client engagement and business development, with opportunities to work closely with contractors, architects, consultants and developers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales activities to achieve assigned sales targets and business objectives.
• Develop new business opportunities and build a healthy pipeline of prospective clients.
• Build and maintain long‑term business relationships with main contractors, architects, consultants and developers.
• Prepare and propose product specifications based on project and client requirements.
• Conduct product presentations and provide technical information to clients and key stakeholders.
• Understand customers' project requirements and recommend suitable product solutions.
• Follow up on project opportunities from initial engagement through to sales conversion.
• Maintain regular communication with existing and prospective customers to strengthen business relationships.
• Keep updated on market developments, upcoming projects and competitor activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Building, Construction, Architecture or a related discipline (advantageous).
• Prior experience in technical sales, building materials or the construction industry (preferred).
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable engaging with contractors, consultants, architects and other industry stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, target‑driven and comfortable working in a sales environment.
