Technical Support Engineer (TSE) MDP

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a Technical Support Engineer (TSE) MDP to provide comprehensive technical support for customer equipment, handling escalations, installations, and performance improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all technical support aspects for assigned customers, including escalations, fleet performance, system installations, improvement programs, and upgrades.
• Act as the field escalation focal point, delivering documentation and support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel.
• Provide Alpha Site support for engineering installations, calibrations, and testing of new hardware, processes, or software.
• Deliver Beta Site support for customer tool installations, calibrations, service, and testing of new designs.
• Review Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to ensure data validity and communicate outcomes to the field.
• Generate and present system performance metrics such as MTBF, MTBI, and availability, including process data and spending analysis.
• Create and review documentation for technical improvements, system upgrades, and support plans, ensuring field implementation.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in technical discipline with basic knowledge of related areas.
• Understanding of best practices, market competition, and integration of own area with others.
• Ability to lead small projects and mentor less‑experienced colleagues.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of analyzing multiple information sources.
• Effective interpersonal communication, able to convey complex information and build consensus.

Required skills

• System performance analysis (MTBF, MTBI, availability).
• Engineering Change Order (ECO) review and documentation.
