Technology Service Specialist, AVP - IBM MQ & Solace

About the role

As a technical member of the Managed Middleware Platform team, you will ensure the stability, availability and resilience of enterprise messaging, IBM MQ and Solace platforms supporting Deutsche Bank's global business operations. You will drive incident, problem and change management so that critical services and data flows are delivered reliably within SLA commitments, working with application, infrastructure and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues to improve platform stability, performance and availability.
• Review and validate application and platform changes, identifying risks and ensuring controls and documentation are in place.
• Develop and enhance monitoring, alerting and observability capabilities.
• Lead incidents, problems and post-mortems, driving root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Ensure critical data feeds and messaging services meet SLAs while keeping business-critical functions highly available.
• Collaborate across global teams on escalation management, disaster recovery coordination and delegated ITAO/CSM activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in IBM MQ and Solace technologies, with strong infrastructure expertise (network, UNIX and storage).
• Extensive IT support experience in financial services, including stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to leverage AI tools productively while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of MQ and Solace architecture (queue managers, channels, clusters, message flows).
• Experience with message brokers, queues, topics, VPNs, client profiles and access controls.
• Hands-on scripting in Python, UNIX/Linux shell and Perl.
• Automation of operational tasks using scripts, APIs and self-service tools.
