Tenured Professor of Physics

About the role

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at Nanyang Technological University seeks a tenured Professor of Physics to lead cutting‑edge research in photonics and strengthen collaborations with the University of Southampton. The successful candidate will establish a world‑class research programme, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and contribute to the university’s international reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a high‑impact research agenda in photonics or related areas.
• Allocate 80% of time to NTU and 20% to the University of Southampton, fostering joint projects.
• Publish in top‑tier journals, secure competitive research grants, and present invited talks at international conferences.
• Teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, including curriculum development.
• Participate in administrative and leadership duties within the department and research centres.

Required profile

• PhD in Physics or a closely related discipline.
• Strong record of peer‑reviewed publications and successful grant acquisition.
• Demonstrated experience supervising research staff, postdoctoral fellows, and PhD students.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑disciplinary collaborations.
