Test Engineer for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles

About the role

BeeX is seeking a Test Engineer to validate its Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs) before they reach clients. You will ensure that pressure hulls, thrusters, sensors, electronics and autonomy software all function together in subsea conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute verification and validation tests on HAUV subsystems such as thrusters, pressure hulls, PCB stacks, power systems, sensors and communications.
• Conduct vehicle‑level functional tests covering navigation, station‑keeping, hovering control and payload performance.
• Run hardware‑in‑the‑loop and bench tests with software and electrical teams to validate firmware and autonomy behaviour.
• Perform pressure, leak, thermal, vibration and endurance testing on hulls, enclosures and connectors.
• Organise and carry out tank and sea trials, including safety briefings, data collection and performance analysis.
• Design test rigs, fixtures and automated setups; write test plans, procedures and reports with traceability to requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Marine Engineering or a related field.
• 1–5 years of experience in test, validation or systems engineering, preferably with robotics, marine, aerospace or automotive systems.
• Hands‑on experience with test instruments and ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Structured, methodical approach to testing and clear technical reporting.

Required skills

• Python or MATLAB for test automation and data analysis.
• Use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analysers, data loggers and pressure test equipment.
