Test Engineer - Semiconductor Equipment

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Test Engineer in Singapore. The role supports deployed test fixtures, coordinates their maintenance and calibration, and helps evaluate and manage new fixture projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide TF sustaining support for deployed fixtures to keep downtime and customer impact to a minimum.
• Coordinate and perform test fixture preventive maintenance and calibration, and follow up on out-of-tolerance issues.
• Work with other test engineers and business unit customers to coordinate the deployment of new test fixtures.
• Evaluate, design and project manage own test fixture projects, soliciting help as needed.
• Document and track deployment issues to closure and initiate engineering change requests when required.
• Use basic engineering and DFx principles to estimate and reduce fixture development costs and improve fixture quality.
• Develop and use test procedures and assist in defining test specifications with design, software and manufacturing engineering.
• Gather operational and test data, evaluate results and take corrective or continuous improvement actions.
• Determine root causes, run failure analysis and provide failure analysis reports, including P-FMEA when working on new product/fixture development.
• Contribute to business process documentation and maintain records of work methods, procedures and policies.

Required profile

• Expanded conceptual knowledge in the own discipline and broadened capabilities.
• Understanding of key business drivers and ability to solve problems in straightforward situations.
• No supervisory responsibilities, but informal guidance to new team members.
• Able to explain complex information clearly.

The position is full-time, with travel of about 10% of the time and no relocation eligibility.
