Tooling Engineer

About the role

The Tooling Engineer will lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of tooling projects within our manufacturing environment. You will ensure that all tools and equipment are fabricated accurately, maintained efficiently, and aligned with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritize departmental projects to meet schedule and accuracy requirements.
• Diagnose tooling and machine malfunctions, arrange rapid repairs or replacements to minimise downtime.
• Coach and support the team, providing guidance on toolmaking challenges.
• Oversee inspection and quality‑control activities to satisfy health and safety regulations.
• Maintain critical documentation for toolroom operations and advise the Tooling Manager on equipment acquisition and repairs.
• Collaborate with external vendors to obtain competitive quotes and ensure timely delivery of parts.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance toolroom efficiency and standards.

Required profile

• Higher Nitec, Diploma or Degree in precision engineering or mechanical engineering.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 13485 audit documentation related to tooling.
• Basic understanding of mold fabrication.
