Ultra Pure Water & Wastewater Treatment Engineer

About the role

Micron Technology is hiring a Senior Engineer for its Ultra Pure Water and Wastewater Treatment team in Singapore. You will plan, design, construct and commission UPW and wastewater treatment systems for semiconductor manufacturing facilities, working with multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with stakeholders. The role splits time between office work for planning and reporting and on-site presence during construction, installation and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of UPW and wastewater systems, reviewing and approving technical specifications, layouts and drawings for filtration, deionization and wastewater treatment units
• Oversee installation and construction, coordinate with contractors and vendors, conduct site inspections and manage commissioning and startup
• Establish performance metrics, run root cause analysis on failures and develop water recycling and reuse strategies
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols for hazardous chemicals, and manage wastewater discharge and effluent quality
• Act as the main point of contact for the systems, report progress and performance to stakeholders and resolve client concerns
• Lead and mentor a team of contractors, run training programmes and foster continuous improvement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 6 years of experience in UPW and wastewater systems, including at least 3 years in a wastewater treatment role within semiconductor or high-tech industrial construction
• Strong leadership and project management skills, and a deep understanding of semiconductor water quality requirements
• Preferred: experience with AI-enabled tools, data analytics platforms, digital engineering solutions or automation technologies
