Upper River Valley Registered Nurse Class A (RNCA)

About the role

The Upper River Valley health service is seeking a Registered Nurse Class A (RNCA) to deliver comprehensive nursing care within the Addiction/Mental Health Program. The role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating patient-centered care while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care using standardized nursing processes.
• Provide case management, counseling, and therapeutic group facilitation.
• Develop and continuously update individualized care plans and recovery plans.
• Advocate for patients, ensure confidentiality, and promote open communication.
• Maintain documentation in accordance with NANB standards and relevant legislation.
• Participate in mandatory training such as Reflective Clinical Supervision, Code White, Motivational Interviewing, and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.

Required profile

• Registered with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick (CNNB).
• Minimum 1,950 hours of recent direct addiction/mental health experience within the past two years.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and willingness to obtain Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention, Concurrent Disorder Modules, and Addictions 101.
• Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Family Services Act, and NB addiction withdrawal protocols.
• Excellent attendance record, interpersonal and communication skills, and commitment to ongoing education.
