Urban Designer I – Entry Level (Singapore)

About the role

As an entry‑level Urban Designer I in the Perkins&Will Singapore design team, you will support the design process from research and analysis through concept development to client‑ready presentations. You will work under routine guidance, contributing creativity and technical expertise to deliver high‑quality urban design solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in site analysis, program evaluation, and data gathering using quantitative and qualitative methods.
• Develop analytical and design drawings through sketching, physical modeling, and digital tools.
• Prepare master‑plan reports, design guidelines, and presentation materials for clients.
• Coordinate revisions to drawings, mock‑ups, and other project deliverables.
• Integrate zoning and policy requirements into design proposals.
• Support the development of urban frameworks such as circulation, open space, buildings, and infrastructure.
• Participate in client and public presentations, and contribute to collaborative team activities.

Required profile

• 0‑3 years of experience in planning or urban design projects.
• Ability to work under routine guidance and take increasing ownership of tasks.
• Strong curiosity about design and the broader industry.
• Effective communication skills within a collaborative team environment.

Required skills

• Site and design research, site analytics, planning and zoning code analysis.
• Hand‑drawn and digital sketching.
• Computational analysis.
• Proficiency in 2D/3D production software (Revit, Rhino).
• Proficiency in digital sketching/diagramming software (Illustrator).
• Proficiency in analytical tools (ArcGIS, Grasshopper).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in visualization tools (Enscape, VRay).
• Physical modeling making.
