Vice President, Data Security Engineering

About the role

The role is a hands‑on engineering position within a leading global investment organisation, focused on designing, implementing and enhancing enterprise data security solutions across on‑premise and cloud environments. The VP, Data Security Engineering will collaborate closely with infrastructure, cloud and application teams to protect critical business information.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimise enterprise data security solutions to protect sensitive data on‑premise and in cloud.
• Lead deployment of technologies such as Microsoft Purview, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) and other data protection platforms.
• Develop capabilities for data discovery, classification, encryption, masking, tokenisation and information rights management.
• Conduct proof‑of‑concept and proof‑of‑value initiatives for new cybersecurity technologies and integrate security controls into enterprise platforms.
• Provide technical expertise, architectural guidance and documentation to continuously improve the organisation’s data security posture.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of IT experience, including at least 8 years in cybersecurity or information security.
• Proven hands‑on experience implementing enterprise data security technologies such as Microsoft Purview, DLP or DAM.
• Experience securing environments on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management abilities.
