Vice President, Physical Logistics

About the role

Citi is hiring a Vice President for Physical Logistics in Singapore. This is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing commodities and identifying potential physical trading opportunities in coordination with the Trading team. The overall aim is to manage physical positions and movements and coordinate with stakeholders on the trading floor.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Commodities business, oversee commodities and identify physical trading opportunities at the trading desk
• Coordinate with stakeholders across legal, back office and product control
• Manage physical positions and movements, optimising flows to save costs by understanding how market conditions affect them
• Solve issues throughout the nomination cycle using internal and external relationships and submit monthly nominations
• Input and extract trading information to ensure accuracy and resolve problems
• Coordinate new products, structure transactions, trading book purchases, ad hoc projects and regulatory compliance
• Ensure correct trade processing and bank risk compliance, and work on audit queries
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit and Finance to build governance and control infrastructure, and foster a culture of responsible finance, ethics and expense discipline
• Assess risk/reward of transactions, uphold the Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services, and escalate control issues transparently

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred
• Prior experience in a related role; logistical/physical experience in base metals (LME/CME/others) and precious metals (LBMA/LPPM/CME/others), plus vaulting experience in precious metals, is a great plus
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines accurately, and to prioritise urgent tasks
• Thrives in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
