VP Data Governance Lead – Unstructured Data Stewardship

About the role

GIC is seeking a Vice President to lead its Data Governance and Stewardship initiatives for unstructured data. You will shape the strategy, processes, and platforms that ensure data quality, compliance, and usability across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply classification standards for unstructured data across business lines.
• Lead data annotation and labelling efforts to improve recall rates for AI and machine‑learning projects.
• Create a roadmap to progressively tag, label and classify all unstructured data assets.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and AI teams to enhance algorithmic recognition and address misclassifications.
• Continuously optimise annotation operations and contribute to platform design improvements.
• Work with business users, data vendors, and engineers to implement best‑practice data solutions.

Required profile

• Strong blend of technical expertise, business understanding and leadership experience.
• Proven experience in enterprise data governance, especially for unstructured data.
• Ability to design scalable processes and drive cross‑functional collaboration.
