About the role

DBS is seeking an experienced risk leader to drive its operational risk and business resilience agenda across Financial Planning, Investments and Insurance. This is a high-impact role that goes beyond traditional risk management: you will partner with product owners, operations and technology teams and regional platform partners to identify risks, strengthen controls and give strategic risk insight that supports sustainable growth. The role sits within the COO office and is based in DBS Asia Central.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the operational risk management framework and provide strategic risk insight for new propositions, platforms and transformation initiatives
• Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on operational risk, controls and resilience, and challenge business decisions constructively
• Review critical business processes, identify vulnerabilities and control gaps, and support business continuity planning
• Lead risk assessments, monitor key risk indicators and remediation, review control effectiveness and close significant risk issues
• Oversee significant operational and customer-impact incidents, including root cause analysis and lessons learned
• Oversee live verification and change assurance after major releases, and work with technology and platform teams on deployment governance

Required profile

• 8-12+ years of experience in operational risk, business controls, governance, audit, COO, operational excellence or business risk
• Experience supporting wealth management, financial planning, investments, insurance or banking businesses
• Strong understanding of advisory, investment, insurance and customer servicing processes
• Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving change in complex environments
