VP, Technical Lead - Institutional Banking Group Technology

About the role

DBS is looking for a highly experienced, hands-on technology leader to lead engineering, architecture and delivery of the Customer Management & Analytics (CMA) platform within Institutional Banking Group Technology (IBGT) in Singapore. The role also covers AI, agentic AI and innovation, and people leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, development and delivery of CMA platforms supporting customer acquisition, onboarding, relationship management, workflow automation, servicing and operations.
• Define platform technology strategy and engineering roadmaps aligned to IBGT and business objectives.
• Drive modernisation using cloud-native technologies, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures and enterprise integration patterns.
• Review solution architecture, application design and code to ensure scalability, resilience, security, maintainability and performance.
• Guide technical decisions, manage technical debt and ensure compliance with technology risk, cyber security, regulatory and data governance requirements.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Design and implement GenAI and Agentic AI solutions, including LLM platforms, RAG, AI agents and intelligent workflow orchestration, and build sustainable AI engineering practices.
• Build an engineering culture, attract and retain talent, and coach and mentor engineers.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of technology experience, with substantial hands-on software engineering and application development.
• Proven track record leading software development teams in banking or financial services, and experience as both developer and developer lead on enterprise-scale systems.
• Experience delivering large-scale mission-critical platforms and working in complex global organisations with matrix reporting.
• Track record of managing and developing engineering leaders, with strong coaching, mentoring and succession planning.
• Experience balancing innovation, R&D and production delivery, and understanding of banking technology controls, risk, cybersecurity and regulation.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
