VP, Windows & Private Cloud Operations

About the role

The VP, Windows & Private Cloud Operations leads core enterprise infrastructure in a highly regulated financial environment. The role covers Windows Server, Active Directory, private cloud platforms and related technologies, reporting to a senior executive and managing a team supporting enterprise operations, incident escalation and platform modernisation. Success is measured by platform stability, automation and adherence to security and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategy for Windows and private cloud platforms, setting technical standards and operational roadmaps
• Serve as the highest escalation point for complex incidents and problem resolution
• Oversee Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Nutanix/vSAN, Citrix and related technologies
• Direct lifecycle management, upgrades and migration programmes
• Manage outsourced service providers through operational standards and knowledge transfer
• Govern ITSM, change management and operational KPIs
• Lead patching, backup, disaster recovery planning, vulnerability remediation and resilience initiatives
• Define security standards with Cybersecurity and Audit teams, focusing on privileged access and platform security
• Drive automation initiatives and evaluate new technologies
• Mentor team members and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
• 10+ years managing enterprise Windows Server infrastructure with leadership responsibilities
• Proven experience leading large-scale Windows upgrades and migrations
• Experience managing outsourced or managed service providers and acting as senior escalation point

Required skills

• Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, PKI, VMware, Citrix and PowerShell
• Backup, disaster recovery, ITSM, change governance and operational excellence
• Nice to have: AWS or Azure, CIS/NIST security frameworks, and automation tools such as Ansible
