Warehouse Assistant

About the role

A busy, well-organised warehouse operation is looking for a Warehouse Assistant to join a team of three and take part in the full cycle of warehouse activities, from receiving and storing inbound stock to picking, packing and dispatching supplies to internal and external stakeholders. This is an urgent replacement role with an immediate start preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, check quantity and quality and sort incoming parts and supplies
• Store items in an orderly, accessible way to maximise space and efficiency
• Process incoming requisitions and issue parts and supplies for delivery on time
• Maintain accurate records of orders, stock levels and item locations
• Examine and segregate returned goods and notify the relevant departments
• Keep stock areas clear, tidy and compliant with safety requirements
• Take part in regular stock-takes and ad-hoc warehousing duties
• Liaise with freight forwarders, confirm delivery terms with suppliers and provide invoices and packing lists
• Help prepare shipping and freight-forwarding documentation and deliver good customer service

Required profile

• Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics or supply-chain environment is advantageous but not essential; full training is provided
• Ability to handle physical tasks such as walking around the warehouse and carrying loads up to safety limits
• Detail-oriented, with good record-keeping and accurate inventory data
• Good English communication skills to deal with suppliers, forwarders and internal teams
• Proactive, team-oriented and able to support colleagues during peak periods
• Commitment to a 5.5-day work week and the ability to start at short notice
