Civil & Structural Design Engineer

About the role

The Civil & Structural Design Engineer will develop safe, durable, and regulatory‑compliant structural solutions for LTA transport infrastructure across Singapore. You will work on tunnels, stations, viaducts and related structures, ensuring designs meet MRT loading, ground movement and long‑term durability requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop structural designs for LTA transport projects including tunnels, stations, viaducts and ancillary works.
• Perform detailed structural analyses and calculations considering MRT loads, ground movement, construction staging and durability.
• Prepare submission documents, design reports, calculation packages and specifications in line with LTA standards and QP requirements.
• Produce coordinated design drawings and BIM models that comply with LTA’s CDE/BIM standards.
• Collaborate with geotechnical, systems, trackwork and architectural teams to ensure integrated civil and rail designs.
• Evaluate site conditions and utilities to propose feasible construction methods, temporary works and staging plans.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments and value‑engineering studies to improve safety, cost‑effectiveness and maintainability.
• Provide technical support during tender, procurement and construction phases, reviewing shop drawings and contractor submissions.
• Attend coordination meetings, perform site inspections and verify compliance with LTA specifications.
• Maintain detailed documentation and communication to satisfy LTA quality and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• More than 5 years of experience in civil and structural design, preferably on large‑scale construction projects.
