Device Engineer

About the role

The Device Engineer will work within STMicroelectronics’ semiconductor fab to improve product yield and reliability. The role collaborates closely with process, quality and product engineering teams to develop and optimise manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with process and quality teams to improve yield and reliability.
• Communicate module‑related issues to fab engineering and leadership.
• Work with Process Engineers to develop processes that maximise operational efficiency.
• Optimise existing processes to enhance manufacturability, yield and product performance.
• Coordinate with product engineering and process teams to resolve yield and quality issues.
• Design, execute and analyse experiments aimed at improving fab processes, yield and quality.
• Collect and interpret complex data to optimise fab processes and increase yields.
• Lead or participate in cross‑area engineering teams to solve process problems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in electrical, electronic, material, physics or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 2‑3 years of experience in semiconductor device engineering (entry‑level candidates also welcome).
• Knowledge of structural and process integration, with basic understanding of process areas preferred.
• Familiarity with fabrication processes, probe, back‑end and reliability considerations.
• Understanding of statistical process control and basic device physics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to compile data, perform statistical analysis and produce reports.
