Director, Centre for African Studies

About the role

The Centre for African Studies (CAS) at NTU‑SBF seeks a senior leader to direct its strategic, research and partnership activities. Reporting jointly to the Advisory Board Chairman and the Dean of Nanyang Business School, the Director will shape the centre’s vision and expand its impact across Africa and Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute CAS’s strategic vision in collaboration with the Advisory Board and NBS senior management.
• Develop and deliver a roadmap to strengthen collaborations between African and Singaporean companies.
• Lead outreach and industry‑engagement initiatives, building networks with corporate, government and ecosystem partners.
• Partner with NBS faculty to produce practice‑oriented thought leadership and manage its dissemination.
• Provide day‑to‑day governance, overseeing resource allocation, financial management, budgeting and performance monitoring.
• Drive revenue generation and fundraising activities to achieve financial sustainability.
• Oversee planning, budgeting and delivery of CAS initiatives and events to ensure operational excellence.
