General Technician – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

Reporting to the Duty Engineer (Common Area) or their delegate, the General Technician ensures that all hotel equipment operates efficiently and meets the brand’s standards, contributing to guest satisfaction and smooth facility operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance across guest rooms, common areas, and plant rooms.
• Order, monitor, and manage fuels, lubricants, and repair parts inventory.
• Maintain clean and tidy plant rooms and ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities.
• Assist in implementing the hotel’s preventative maintenance system and repair log.
• Instruct colleagues on safe operation, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment.
• Record daily service work, including labour hours and replacement costs.
• Prioritise work based on guest requests and management directives.
• Carry out regular inspections of plant and equipment using the computerized system.
• Log security incidents, accidents, and hazardous situations in accordance with hotel policies.
• Promote environmentally friendly initiatives and proper recycling methods.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of related experience in hotel maintenance.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (spoken, written, and reading).
