Head of School – Biomedical & Life Sciences

About the role

LSBF is seeking a visionary leader to shape the future of Biomedical and Life Sciences education. The role bridges academia, healthcare, research and industry to keep programmes relevant, future‑focused and connected to real‑world opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead academic quality and strategic direction, ensuring programmes stay current and aligned with emerging healthcare developments.
• Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with hospitals, biotech firms, pharmaceutical companies and professional bodies.
• Identify emerging trends, recommend new programmes, specialisations and industry collaborations to drive school growth.
• Mentor and develop academic staff, fostering a culture of excellence and supporting student success and employability.
• Oversee laboratory‑based learning environments, ensuring health, safety and equipment standards are met.
• Contribute to teaching in areas such as Biomedical Science, Molecular Biology, Genetics and Bioinformatics where possible.

Required profile

• Master’s degree required; PhD preferred in Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Healthcare or related fields.
• Proven senior leadership and stakeholder‑management experience in academia or industry.
• Strong communication, presentation and relationship‑building skills.
• Understanding of academic governance, quality assurance and higher‑education regulations is advantageous.
