Inventory Business Controller

About the role

The Inventory Business Controller will own the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of inventory accounting across a complex global supply chain. Reporting to the Senior Manager, this individual contributor role combines month‑end close ownership with strategic partnership to optimise financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive month‑end close activities, ensuring accurate valuation of raw materials, work‑in‑progress and finished goods.
• Manage excess & obsolete (E&O) provisions and scrap reporting.
• Perform inventory reconciliations, produce variance analyses and consolidated Power BI reports for cross‑functional decision‑making.
• Drive process improvements and oversee cycle counts for audit and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to IFRS standards and act as a business partner on inventory optimisation and cost‑control initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance/Accounting with professional accreditation (CA, CPA, ACCA).
• Relevant experience in inventory accounting, valuation methodologies, E&O reserve adequacy and working‑capital management.
• Familiarity with product costing and strong analytical problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven track record in internal controls, compliance frameworks and coordination with warehouse operations and auditors.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective business partnering.
