Lead IT Business Analyst – Trading & Investment Banking

About the role

This senior position leads a Singapore‑based Business Analysis team supporting a trading and investment banking operation. The role blends people leadership, stakeholder engagement, hands‑on analysis and delivery ownership across strategic and operational projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Business Analysts, handling performance management, mentoring and career planning.
• Establish and enforce BA best practices, quality standards and delivery methodologies.
• Build strong relationships with Middle Office, Market Risk, Product Control, Quantitative Analytics, Finance, Accounting and Settlements stakeholders.
• Facilitate prioritisation, drive decision‑making and present recommendations to senior leaders.
• Gather, analyse and document business requirements, produce user stories, functional specifications and process documentation.
• Partner with developers, architects, QA and vendors to ensure alignment throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Support estimation, planning, testing, UAT, training, deployment and post‑implementation activities.
• Act as Product Owner for BAU initiatives, managing backlogs and prioritisation.
• Provide functional support, resolve queries and investigate production issues using data analysis.
• Operate effectively in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid environments and maintain documentation in Jira and Confluence.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of Business Analysis experience in commodities trading organisations, investment banks, Tier‑1 consulting firms or technology vendors serving capital markets.
• Proven experience supporting trading, risk, finance or post‑trade functions.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to perform independent SQL queries.
• Demonstrated leadership capability and experience managing a team of analysts.
• Comfortable working in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery models.

Required skills

• Strong SQL querying skills.
• Proficiency with Jira for backlog and issue tracking.
• Proficiency with Confluence for documentation and knowledge sharing.
