Legal Assistant – 1 Year Contract (Leasing)

About the role

UNIQLO’s Legal Department is seeking a Legal Assistant on a 1‑year contract to support the review, negotiation and execution of store leases across Singapore. The role will also involve broader legal work such as commercial contract reviews, regulatory research and compliance support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the review, negotiation and finalisation of letters of offer, store leases, construction, renovation, maintenance and related agreements across Singapore.
• Ensure consistency of lease agreements and compliance with internal global and local policies.
• Provide practical, risk‑based legal advice to internal stakeholders, balancing commercial objectives with legal safeguards.
• Identify, analyse and mitigate legal and operational risks associated with lease terms and landlord negotiations.
• Collaborate with store development, design and finance teams to achieve timely execution of agreements.
• Support the Legal Department on other matters such as commercial contract reviews, regulatory research and compliance tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law and admission to the Singapore Bar or another common‑law jurisdiction.
• 4–7 years of post‑qualification experience, primarily in real‑estate and leasing matters.
• Proven track record in commercial retail leasing and handling complex lease agreements.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to understand operational objectives.
