Legal Consultant – Structured Finance & Derivatives

About the role

Axiom is seeking a Legal Consultant with Structured Finance and Derivatives experience to provide long‑term support to a leading global digital assets firm. The role involves designing, documenting, and launching institutional‑grade products while managing legal and regulatory risk.

Key responsibilities

• Work directly with senior business stakeholders to design and structure institutional products and transactions, including structured products, derivatives, and repack/securitisation‑style structures, from concept through execution and launch.
• Draft, review and negotiate core documentation for new products and deals, such as transaction agreements, terms & conditions, derivatives and trading documentation, and related commercial contracts.
• Provide clear, commercially focused legal and regulatory advice on securities, derivatives, and exchange/broker‑dealer activities, helping the business move quickly while managing risk.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Product, Risk and Business teams to support licensing and regulatory initiatives and to help build an institutional‑grade exchange, broker‑dealer and custodial platform.

Required profile

• Strong background in structured finance, structured products, capital markets and/or derivatives, ideally 10–15+ years PQE, with exposure to repackagings, securitisations and swaps/OTC derivatives in an investment bank or top‑tier law firm.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑intensity environment and is confident engaging with demanding senior stakeholders.
• Cryptocurrency or broader digital‑assets experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Bar admission or practising certificate is helpful but not mandatory when strong, relevant deal and structured finance experience is demonstrated.
