Legal Counsel

About the role

Samsung Electronics Device Solutions is seeking a Legal Counsel to lead legal and compliance functions across Singapore, Malaysia and India. This individual contributor reports to the Senior Manager of Financial Management and will handle a broad range of legal matters while ensuring regulatory adherence.

Key responsibilities

• Advise business units on corporate, commercial, employment, competition, intellectual property, privacy, litigation, anti‑corruption and consumer protection laws.
• Draft, review and negotiate NDAs, sales/distribution, service and consulting agreements to protect company interests.
• Manage legal and compliance process systems, oversee disputes and coordinate with external counsel.
• Provide actionable legal advice to headquarters and administer compliance programs, including employee training and record‑keeping.
• Update business policies to align with Singapore law, monitor legal trends and act as Data Protection Officer.

Required profile

• Law degree (LL.B. or JD) with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience in corporate/commercial law and contract negotiations.
• Experience working in a law‑firm environment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across all organizational levels.
• Proficiency in English, strong logical and analytical thinking, and high motivation to adapt in a fast‑paced setting.
