Lounge Captain – Republic

About the role

The Republic Lounge Captain leads the lounge team at the Marina Bay location, ensuring seamless service and memorable guest experiences. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Captain oversees daily operations, staff performance, and maintains high standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and motivate lounge staff to deliver optimal service and meet guest needs.
• Inspect staff grooming, attire, and correct any deficiencies.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including setup of supplies, equipment cleaning, and securing the venue.
• Maintain organized storage areas, enforce FIFO practices, and ensure cleanliness.
• Conduct inventory counts, stock requisitions, and manage work orders for maintenance.
• Monitor dining room seating, service flow, safety, and guest wellbeing.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Uphold company policies, safety procedures, and report incidents promptly.
• Welcome guests professionally, anticipate service needs, and provide assistance to individuals with disabilities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant food‑and‑beverage experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a hospitality setting.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, standing for long periods, and navigating stairs or confined spaces.
• Strong communication skills and a professional appearance.
