Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the conceptualisation, design, and development of automation equipment and mechanical systems for cleanroom and industrial applications. The role involves managing projects from initial concept through manufacturing and on‑site commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop automation equipment and mechanical systems for cleanroom and industrial use.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, cost estimates, and fabrication documentation.
• Manage projects from concept stage to manufacturing, testing, and final commissioning.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve designs and optimise costs.
• Provide technical solutions and troubleshoot design issues during execution.
• Review and verify drawings for technical accuracy and compliance with customer specifications.
• Engage with customers for technical specifications, design reviews, and product requirements.
• Lead machine installation, testing, and commissioning at customer sites when required.
• Ensure designs meet relevant engineering standards such as ISO9000, SEMI‑S2, and SOP39.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in automation, semiconductor, HDD, or precision engineering.
• Proven ability to design machines from scratch.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Experience in pneumatic system design and pneumatic circuit diagram preparation.
• Knowledge of linear motion systems.
• Strong ability to prepare fabrication, assembly, and machine layout drawings.
