Middleware Development Intern

About the role

This internship offers a hands‑on opportunity to work on backend middleware services within a leading hospitality and entertainment organization. You will collaborate with development, QA and DevOps teams to build, test and document Java‑based microservices and event‑driven integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Support the implementation of REST APIs and micro‑services architecture.
• Work on event‑driven integrations with Kafka (basic exposure).
• Participate in various phases of the software development life cycle.
• Help with API integration, data transformation, and middleware flows.
• Support debugging, defect fixing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Contribute to technical documentation such as API specifications and design documents.
• Collaborate closely with development, QA, and DevOps teams.
• Participate in code reviews and learning sessions.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled as a full‑time student in an IT‑related diploma or degree program.
• Hands‑on development experience with a solid understanding of requirements, design, coding and testing.
• Familiarity with software design patterns and disciplined development processes.
• Ability to work on high‑availability, multi‑tiered web applications.
