Project Engineer – Pneumatic Tube Systems for Healthcare

About the role

We are looking for a specialised Project Engineer to lead the tendering, design coordination and execution of Pneumatic Tube Systems (PTS) in hospital development and upgrade projects. You will manage both the pre‑contract tender phase and the on‑site installation, testing and commissioning after award.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret hospital tender drawings, specifications and Bill of Quantities, and prepare technical and financial tender documents.
• Source and evaluate quotations from PTS equipment manufacturers, piping suppliers and sub‑contractors, and draft proposals, method statements and compliance matrices.
• Coordinate detailed shop drawings, 3D BIM/Revit layouts and resolve clashes with other MEP services such as HVAC and medical gas lines.
• Supervise on‑site installation of pneumatic lines, diverter units, blower stations and user terminals, ensuring compliance with infection‑control and safety standards.
• Lead system testing and commissioning, including pressure testing, software configuration for routing and integration with Hospital Information Systems (HIS/EHR).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Building Services.
• 2–5 years of MEP construction experience with exposure to pneumatic tube or automated material‑handling systems in a healthcare environment.
• Familiarity with Singapore construction tendering processes (GeBIZ, BCA codes) and hospital operational requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical and pneumatic schematics.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM tools (Navisworks) for clash detection and detailed drawing production.
• Experience with pressure testing of pneumatic systems.
• Software configuration for station routing and integration with Hospital Information Systems.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Clash detection and coordination using BIM/3D modeling.
