Quantity Surveyor – Construction Cost Management

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will manage all financial aspects of construction projects, from cost estimation to contract administration. The senior role expands responsibilities to leading the QS team and overseeing multiple projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs) and project budgets.
• Manage tendering processes, prepare tender documents and evaluate bids.
• Monitor project costs, track variations and ensure budgets are adhered to.
• Conduct site measurements and valuations for interim payments and final accounts.
• Liaise with contractors, clients and consultants on cost‑related matters.
• Assist in contract administration, review contracts and manage claims.
• Lead the QS team, provide guidance on cost‑management strategies and oversee cost control across multiple projects.
• Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in contract management.
• Prepare financial reports and cost forecasts for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Experience preparing cost estimates, BOQs and budgets for construction projects.
• Proven ability to manage tendering processes and evaluate bids.
• Strong track record of monitoring project costs and controlling variations.
• Experience conducting site measurements and preparing valuations for payments.
• Familiarity with contract administration, claim management and contract negotiation.
• Leadership experience in guiding a QS team (for senior role).
