Research Assistant – AI for Mental Health (HCI/CS/Info Science)

About the role

The Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at NTU is seeking a Research Assistant to support a project on Artificial Intelligence for mental health. The role involves interdisciplinary collaboration and contributes to high‑impact research outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in conducting research on social and emotional AI use and safety evaluation.
• Contribute to publications in top‑tier HCI, communication, and interdisciplinary venues.
• Collaborate with students, interdisciplinary team members, and external stakeholders such as community organisations or industry partners.
• Support lab development, including organising research activities, managing projects, and contributing to grant proposals.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Human‑Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant research experience.
• Familiarity with social science theories, HCI, and well‑being concepts.
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Proficiency in quantitative/statistical analysis and computational techniques.
• Ability to work independently and within interdisciplinary teams, with good time‑management skills.
