Research Assistant (Psychology / Cognitive Neuroscience / Neuroscience / Education)

About the role

The Centre for Research and Development in Learning at Nanyang Technological University (CRADLE@NTU) is looking for a motivated Research Assistant to support its interdisciplinary projects in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, neuroscience, and education. The successful candidate will work closely with senior researchers, external collaborators, and schools to ensure smooth project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day operations of funded research projects, tracking milestones and timelines.
• Liaise with project collaborators, schools, and external institutions to facilitate study implementation.
• Organise stakeholder meetings, prepare materials, and document outcomes.
• Conduct literature reviews and assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other deliverables.
• Prepare and maintain research ethics applications and related documentation.
• Support participant recruitment, scheduling, and administration of study sessions.
• Collect data using psychological, cognitive, MRI, and functional Near‑Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) methods.
• Maintain accurate research records, databases, and ensure compliance with data governance policies.
• Assist with procurement, inventory management, and monitoring of research equipment.
• Provide guidance to undergraduate assistants and undertake additional duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Neuroscience, Education or a related discipline.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder interaction.
• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Experience with MRI data collection.
• Familiarity with functional Near‑Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) techniques.
• Conducting cognitive assessments.
• Data management and secure handling of research datasets.
