About the role
The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU seeks a motivated Research Fellow to investigate intracellular lipid regulation under varying diets and to protect the endocrine pancreas in obesity and metabolic dysregulation. The role focuses on type‑2 diabetes, chronic inflammation, and immune‑cell interactions, integrating cutting‑edge molecular and cellular techniques.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct in‑vitro assays such as histology, western blotting and immunofluorescence.
- Perform in‑vivo experiments using genetically modified mouse models.
- Handle and analyse human pancreatic islets.
- Apply multi‑omics approaches to study lipid metabolism, autophagy/lipophagy and cell stress.
- Generate and interpret data on circulating and tissue‑specific immune‑cell interactions.
Required profile
- Strong interest in lipid metabolism, autophagy/lipophagy and type‑2 diabetes pathophysiology.
- Motivated researcher with experience in molecular and cellular biology.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with immune‑cell studies is a plus.
