Senior Designer Engineer

About the role

The Senior Designer Engineer will lead the development of Transmission & Distribution (T&D) solutions that meet customer requirements while complying with codes, standards and industry best practices. This role combines technical design, value engineering and project coordination to ensure successful bidding and execution of electrical projects.

Key responsibilities

• Propose T&D solutions aligned with customer applications and regulatory requirements.
• Analyse customer specifications and bid documents to define technical parameters for electrical designs.
• Provide value‑engineering inputs to enhance solution cost‑effectiveness.
• Act as lead engineer, coordinating with clients and internal design teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and review detailed design packages, including Single Line Diagrams, Bill of Materials, General Arrangements, technical specifications, system studies, schematics, interface engineering and design calculations.
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing and commissioning activities.
• Contribute to the standardisation and continuous improvement of T&D solutions and deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5‑8 years of experience designing power and distribution transformers, MV/LV switchgear and prefabricated substations.
• Result‑oriented with strong problem‑solving and coordination abilities.
• Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
• Willingness to travel overseas when required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with Eplan (preferred).
• Experience with Etap (preferred).
