Senior Research Fellow – Cardiometabolic Medicine

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University is seeking a motivated Senior/Research Fellow to join Assistant Professor Lynn Yap’s laboratory. The role focuses on regenerative cardiology and metabolic disorder research, integrating stem‑cell therapy, cardio‑immunology and translational studies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments using pluripotent stem cells and cardiovascular progenitor cells for myocardial repair in rodent and porcine models.
• Investigate molecular mechanisms of cardiac regeneration, graft maturation and cardiac immunology.
• Develop and apply disruptive technologies to advance cellular therapy candidates for ischemic heart disease.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary academic and industry partners to translate findings into potential clinical applications.
• Prepare scientific reports, manuscripts and presentations for peer‑reviewed journals and conferences.

Required profile

• PhD in cardiovascular biology, regenerative medicine, or a related biomedical field.
• Demonstrated experience in stem‑cell culture, animal model research and translational studies.
• Strong publication record in cardiometabolic or regenerative research.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
