Senior Software Engineer – Java Backend

About the role

Apple is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will split time between hands‑on architectural design and direct engagement with strategic partners. You will shape scalable, resilient backend services while translating partner feedback into product improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of highly scalable, secure backend systems.
• Develop critical platform features and infrastructure with a focus on code quality and operational excellence.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
• Act as the primary technical liaison for business partners, managing escalations and gathering feedback.
• Convert partner requirements into actionable engineering specifications and influence the product roadmap.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to internal and external technical audiences.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in backend software development.
• Proven expertise in designing and architecting high‑performance distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming principles.
• Demonstrated ability to work with strategic partners and translate business needs into technical solutions.
