Site Reliability Engineer II – Payments Technology

About the role

Join JPMorgan Chase’s Corporate and Investment Bank Payments Technology team as a Site Reliability Engineer II. You will ensure the reliability, performance, and stability of critical payment services while leveraging modern software engineering practices and AI‑assisted tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Own and operate critical payment services and cloud infrastructure, guaranteeing high availability and resiliency.
• Drive production excellence through proactive monitoring, observability, incident and problem management, and continuous improvement.
• Utilize Datadog, CloudWatch, and enterprise observability tools to detect, diagnose, and prevent customer‑impacting issues.
• Lead incident recovery, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Apply enterprise‑authorized AI capabilities to accelerate incident triage, troubleshooting, and post‑incident analysis while ensuring data security.
• Eliminate operational toil by building automation, self‑healing mechanisms, and engineering‑driven solutions.
• Develop deep knowledge of payment transaction flows to identify risks and resolve production issues across the payment lifecycle.
• Implement and refine service level indicators, objectives, monitoring, and alerting for optimal transparency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Ability to code in at least one programming language and assess AI‑assisted recommendations for correctness and risk.
• Experience maintaining cloud‑based infrastructure and using enterprise observability tools.
• Strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity, security, and auditability.
