Software Engineer II – Behavioral Identity Security

About the role

Abnormal AI is expanding its Behavioral Identity Security team to meet growing demand for Identity Security Posture Management (ISPM). As a Software Engineer II you will help build the next generation of identity‑focused security defenses, working on high‑throughput backend services that continuously evaluate enterprise identity configurations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and scale backend services in Go, including event‑driven pipelines, REST/gRPC APIs, cron jobs, and integration layers.
• Model data and create optimized multi‑tenant database schemas to support large‑scale identity workloads.
• Implement asynchronous processing workflows using Kafka to ensure continuous posture evaluation.
• Translate product requirements into end‑to‑end solutions, from data modeling through API design and evaluation logic.
• Participate in architectural reviews, write technical design documents, and uphold best practices for testing, code quality, and observability.

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a hands‑on engineering mindset.
• Experience working on distributed systems and high‑performance backend services.
• Ability to collaborate closely with senior engineers and product managers.
